The Wingback chair by NW designs

The starting point for this design came from a sketch of the negative space left by a design for a lectern I was working on. The Saligna timber moved me with its intensive grain pattern that at first glance look like feathers.
As the chair developed it grew from a hard intense piece to a soft, tactile chair that supports and welcomes you in to it. The Maple legs rise from the floor to a very strong and well founded seat, The back wing made from Saligna securely joined to the frame at 3 points springs slightly as you relax in to this formal dining chair.
